Frequently asked questions

Can I convert JPG to HEIC or JPEG to HEIC on this site?

No. HEIC encoding is not available through the same browser canvas APIs we use for JPEG, PNG, and WEBP—this site only converts from HEIC to JPEG (decode client-side), not the other way.

Does HEIC to JPG work with all iPhone and HEIF photos?

Most iPhone HEIC/HEIF images work. Live Photos or proprietary variants may fail—export stills from Photos first if needed.

Is HEIC to JPG conversion private? Are iPhone photos uploaded to a server?

No. heic2any runs in your browser page.

Why is HEIC to JPG slow for large photos?

HEIC decoding is CPU-heavy. Close other heavy tabs or try a smaller file.
